Open House Held for Draft Water Study Report

Open House Held for Draft Water Study Report

The fourth and final public open house on the Sheridan Supplemental Supply Study was held Thursday night in Sheridan. The project began in June of 2009 when the Wyoming Water Development Commission contracted a study to project future water supply and storage needs for Sheridan and the surrounding area. The draft report was presented to officials with the City of Sheridan and Sheridan County.

Dowl HKM Project Manager Susan Holmes says that after thorough analysis, they've come up with the top two recommendations for the City and the SAWS Joint Powers Board.

Holmes said that a needs assessment showed that the current water supply would be depleted by 2037.

Holmes said that the next step is to finalize the report by June of this year, then it will be up to the City and the SAWS JPB to implement those recommendations. The draft Sheridan Supplemental Supply Study can be viewed by clicking here, or you can view it at the Sheridan County Fulmer Library.
