Old Murder Sentence

PINEDALE, (AP) - A Montana man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted in the 1984 beating and shooting death of a Wyoming woman. Forty-six-year-old Troy Dean Willoughby was sentenced Friday for the death of 25-year-old Elizabeth Miles Ehlers. Her body was found at a gravel pullout off U.S. 191 near Hoback Canyon.

Willoughby pleaded not guilty but a jury convicted him in January. Prosecutors charged Willoughby in 2009 after investigators said that Willoughby's ex-wife and a friend gave statements implicating Willoughby. Prosecutors said the case was the first known murder conviction in Sublette County since 1912.
