Nothing New On Investigation of Jo Co Assessor's Office

The Johnson County Commissione had nothing new to report during their meeting Tuesday on the ongoing investigation into the former Johnson County Assessor's Office.

There was an executive session scheduled at the beginning of Tuesday's meeting, but nothing was reported and no decisions were made stemming from the more than 30-minute executive session.

Also, there was no indication as to whether or not the executive session had anything to do with the investigation.

At their last meeting December 6th, the commissioners went into a brief executive session to discuss the Buffalo Police Department's investigation with IT specialist Rande Money, but he requested the conversation take place publicly. That was when the investigation became public.

Money denied any wrongdoing at that time, and denied the police department's claim that he had not cooperated with the investigation. It is believed there were some irregularities found in some County records relating to the former assessor's office.

The BPD is still questioning current and former County employees, but no other information has been released at this time.
