We conclude our series today highlighting the five local nonprofit organizations who recently received grant funding from the Wyoming Community Foundation. The final installment takes a look at Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the story.

The mission of Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation is to mentor students of all ages, by developing confidence, patience, and respect through the art of fly fishing. Foundation Founder and Executive Director Joey Puettman talks about how the foundation has benefited from the grant funds from the Wyoming Community Foundation.

Puettman says that the scholarships that are made available through grants for the rod building classes have really allowed the program to flourish.

All in all, the Wyoming Community Foundation distributed $35,000 to five nonprofit organizations in Sheridan that included Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns, Big Brothers Big Sisters, CHAPS and the Food Group.
