A Day Recognizing Service: 'A NonProfit Gathering'

About 40 non-profit groups set up in the Sheridan College Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome Friday to share their information and network with other non-profits.

It was the inaugural 'A Non-profit Gathering' for ServeWyoming and the Sheridan College Service Learning Department.

In the spirit of Veterans Day, the Color Guard American Legion Post 28 had a Posting of the Colors. Color Guard leader Jim Schlenker spoke about veterans as they relate to volunteerism.

Eric Vielhauer, 21-year Air Force Veteran, now culinary arts and hospitality management double major at Sheridan College, led the crowd in the pledge of allegiance.

Schlenker says serving your country can mean more than serving in the military.

Contact ServeWyoming or the SC Service Learning Department at 674-6446 both at the college to find different ways to get involved in the community.
