No Need to Worry

Patients who've received spinal injections for pain at Sheridan Memorial Hospital have no need to worry about national news reports of an outbreak of fungal meningitis in several states across the U.S. due to tainted drugs.

Hospital Marketing Manager Danae Brandjord explains that there's no chance that the drug has made its way to Sheridan Memorial.

The FDA confirmed Wednesday that the New England Compounding Center, a compounding pharmacy out of Framingham, Massachusetts, voluntarily recalled three lots of the drug that they'd produced. There have been 26 reported cases so far, including 4 deaths that are suspected from the meningitis outbreak. States where cases have been reported include; Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and Maryland.
