No Excuse for Abuse

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Advocacy and Resource Center in Sheridan held their “March Against Family Violence” down Main Street Saturday morning and Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott was there.

It was a perfect fall day as the Advocacy and Resource Center held their fourth annual “March Against Family Violence.” At least a couple of hundred supporters marched down Main to raise awareness about domestic violence.

Victim Advocate Rhonda Weber...

Across our nation an average of three women lose their lives every day because of domestic violence and it's here in Sheridan. Over 500 people, whether victims or friends or families, go to the Advocacy Center to get help.

Channing Scott was a victim of abuse by her husband, the father of her children.

Folks from The Advocacy Center walked with Channing following her ordeal; she looks forward to the future.

There's something extra special coming up in Channing's life.

And her husband?

There is no excuse for abuse.
