New Trabing Project OK'd By Jo Co Commission

The Johnson County Commissioners, at their Tuesday meeting, approved a request from Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer to repave a section of Trabing Road by adding it to a Wyoming Department of Transportation (WyDOT) project near there to save a substantial amount of money.

The section of road is from Old Highway 87 east to the Interstate 25 interchange, just a little more than a mile of roadway. That section was not part of the major reconstruction of Trabing Road that was completed earlier this year.

Pehringer said WyDOT has an overlay project they will be working near the intersection and approached him about adding the small section of roadway to their project.

The estimated cost to the county for the project will be from $150,000 to $160,000 according to Pehringer. He explains more about the project.

Pehringer said Neither he nor WyDOT are sure they can get the project bid this summer but are trying to set it up as though they can still get it done this year.

The commissioners approved an increase in the Road and Bridge budget this year of $160,000 to cover the project and if it doesn't happen this year the money will be in place next spring to get the work completed.
