Santa Claus is back on the roof of Sheridan Memorial Hospital, although he looks a bit different these days.

Meredith Sopko, who's the hospital's marketing coordinator, explained in an interview recently with Sheridan Media.

Sopko said the hospital didn't have a chance last year to get another Santa.

Sopko said at that point, hosptal staff decided they needed to get a new Santa. She said people got together probably last March and picked out a decoration they liked, partnered with the hospital foundation and hospital auxiliary.

Sopko said Craftco was up to the challenge, and the result was the approximately 40-by-20-foot Santa peeking over the hospital roof. Sopko said Santa was installed by Craftco and the hospital's own facilities and maintenance crew.

She said Curtis Rivers, who's the head of the hospital's grounds crew, was in charge of the installation, and he and his team did all the lighting.
