A swearing in ceremony for a new officer for the police department was held Monday at Sheridan City Hall. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

A native of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Officer Matt Misslin has spent the last 7 years working for the police department in Buffalo. Misslin said he’s ready for the busy summer that lies ahead.

Matt’s wife, Jessica, did the honors of pinning the badge on his uniform during the ceremony. Police Chief Rich Adriaens said that despite bringing Misslin aboard, they are still short staffed on officers.

Adriaens said that with the addition of Misslin, the department is currently short 4 officers.
