New JCHC CEO Settling Into Position

New JCHC CEO Settling Into Position

Nicole Hobbs, the new Chief Executive Officer with the Johnson County Healthcare Center, has begun settling into the new job with the help of outgoing Administrator Sandy Ward, who will retire this spring.

At the latest Hospital Board meeting, Hobbs said she currently has her temporary Nursing Home Administrator's License and is studying for the National Nursing Home Administrator Board exam, which she plans to take by mid-June.

She asked for a decision from the board concerning her responsibilities.

Outgoing Administrator Sandy Ward recommended the board give Hobbs some “broad discretion” in what she can and cannot sign on behalf of the board, mainly because it may be difficult if not impossible to get board representation in to sign a document when pressed for time to get it done.

Board member Ray Holt made a suggestion the board eventually agreed with.

The board approved Hobbs to sign contracts that fall within the approved budget, with all others to be brought before them for discussion and action.
