Council Approves Flood Plan On Second Reading

The City of Sheridan is in the process of adopting a new flood plain ordinance in accordance with the new flood insurance rate maps that will take effect early next year. The Sheridan City Council approved the new ordinance on second reading at their meeting Monday night. City Engineer Lane Thompson.

The engineer stated to the council that city staff has forwarded the new ordinance to the Big Horn Home Builders association and local developers and engineers, but have yet to receive any response or comments in regard to the memo. The new flood plain ordinance will require one more reading by the council before it is officially adopted.
