In connection to Project Lead the Way, which is a new national initiative within Sheridan County School District Two that is the nation’s leader in STEM education curriculum, a new coding and computer programming club has started at Sheridan high school.

Sheridan High School Assistant Principal Jeff Mowery says the club, under the direction of Mark Thoney from Sheridan College, has met once.

Mowery says the club, now that it’s been formed, will be pretty much self sustaining.

Mowery provides an example of how coding and computer programming is having an impact on the ttechnology industry.

Although the club is only in its first year of existence, Mowery said they are already looking for ways to expand and include outside sources to further their learning and problem solving techniques.
