New Architect Gives Updated Plan For JCHC Project

Plan One Architects gave an updated plan and cost estimate on the Johnson County Healthcare Center's needed upgrade to their pharmacy to their board of trustees at their recent meeting.

Plan One, according to their presentation, is looking at not only redesigning the pharmacy but updating the facility's Master Plan.

The pharmacy remodel was estimated to cost about $250,000 according to an proposal from a different design firm.
Plan One was awarded the contract last fall and has been looking into different scenarios for the remodel, including moving the pharmacy, which will also work well with the Master Plan for the healthcare center.

Plan One had three separate schemes for the pharmacy remodel, with the estimate on the plan they recommended at about $377,000 according to their presentation to the board.
The plan would move the pharmacy from its present location to an area across the hall that is slightly larger and would better accommodate the needed changes to the pharmacy design.

Moving the pharmacy will open up areas for more hospital rooms and other needed areas during remodels planned in the future.

No action was taken at the meeting, but a decision is expected to be made at this month's board meeting on the 27th.

The deadline for the pharmacy remodel to be completed is November 1st of 2019.
