National Police Week

National Police Week is a designation meant to honor the men and women who serve as America’s Law Enforcement Officers and show appreciation for what they do. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy made a proclamation declaring May 15 as Peace Officer Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Sheridan Police Lt. Travis Koltiska.

Sheridan Police Lt. Tom Ringley explains that it is nice to live in a law enforcement friendly community like ours.

Lt. Koltiska said that President Donald Trump proclaimed May 12-18 as this year’s Police Week for the Nation.
