Multiple Flu Cases Confirmed in Sheridan County

Flu season seems to have hit Sheridan County early this year.

The official season started Sept. 30, and registered nurse at the Public Health Clinic, Toby Granger, said confirmed cases are already in the double digits. While the official numbers are still being tallied, Granger emphasized the importance of flu vaccinations.

Granger said the flu cases in Sheridan County were confirmed by “rapid testing” conducted in individual doctors' offices. The flu is a reportable disease that is tracked by public health officials. Granger anticipates the numbers will rise. Public Health officials will be offering free vaccinations to all students within the Sheridan County School districts in the coming weeks.
