In 1928, world famous writer Ernest Hemingway wrote a version of his book, “A Farewell to Arms,” at the Spear-O-Wigwam Ranch in the Bighorn Mountains. The Northern Wyoming Community College District purchased the ranch in 2011 and has been using the area as an outdoor learning center for students and the public ever since.

Director of Outdoor Education for the College District Julie Davidson says that there will be a special guest on hand for a presentation this weekend.

Davidson said that the presentation is free and open to the public and will take place Sunday from 1 to 3.

Davidson stated that they are in the early stages of planning a Hemingway celebration in 2018 to commemorate 90 years after his time at the ranch. Click here for more information and directions to the mountain campus.
