MOU Drafted For HJP Emergency Generator

MOU Drafted For HJP Emergency Generator

A emergency generator located at Harold Jarrard Park in Kaycee is at the center of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that has been drafted between both Johnson County and the Town of Kaycee concerning maintenance of the unit.

Originally purchased and installed by Johnson County Emergency Management, there was a verbal agreement by former Kaycee Mayor Tom Knapp where the town would pay for annual maintenance and testing of the unit.

With the new city administration in Kaycee, new Mayor Crosby Taylor approached the county to have a formal agreement between the two governmental agencies drafted and approved.

County Deputy Attorney Barry Crago, Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly, and Commissioner Bill Novotny discussed the MOU further.

The county commission is expected to readdress and take action on the MOU at their March 19th meeting.
