Montana Woman Charged With Prostitution in Sheridan

A media release issued by the Sheridan Police Department states that 29-year-old Sarah Stem from Bozeman, Montana was arrested for Prostitution and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.

Stem’s arrest was the result of an investigation started by SPD Detectives Jim Arzy and Jerry Rasmussen during September 2012. The investigation started when detectives received information from regional agencies, including the Gillette Police Department and DCI, in reference to possible prostitution occurring in the
Sheridan area.

The media release further states that in the course of the investigation leading up to Stem’s arrest, a meeting was set up with Stem at a local motel on Friday, November 2nd. SPD detectives, along with assistance from the local Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation office and the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, were able to contact Stem at the motel.

Stem was then arrested for Prostitution and the possession charge, as a search resulted in the seizure of three quarters of an ounce of marijuana. The investigation revealed that Stem most likely travels around the region and advertises her services on line; using this as her vehicle to make contacts and set up dates at local motels. Stem may also be working with other women in this venture. The investigation is continuing.
