It was the sound of bagpipes that caught everyone's attention on Saturday. It was the start of the Processional for Sheridan College's 63rd Commencement Ceremony. Graduates marched across campus, into the Golden Dome, led by the Celtic Colorado Pipes and Drums. Saturday, Sheridan College held its 63rd Commencement Ceremony.

Guests and graduates were welcomed and President Paul Young announced the winner of the 2012 President's Award which went to Ashley Beatty for her academic achievements along with her active involvement in college and community affairs.

The 2012 Distinguished Alumnus was awarded to Fred Dollison, Judge of Wyoming's 6th Judicial District who said learning is a continuous process.

A standing ovation welcomed Commencement Speaker, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi who told the graduates they were “mental mountain climbers” offering three mountain climbing tips.

He gave them a map for mountain climbing.

Senator Enzi also encouraged the graduates not to stand on past achievements.

The core values of Northern Wyoming Community College District are respect, integrity, excellence, and learning.
