Memorial Day Observed In Buffalo Monday

Buffalo residents turned out Monday morning for the annual observances for Memorial Day.

The cermonies began at 9am at the Veteran's Memorial at corner of Fort and Main Streets, proceeded to the bridge over Clear Creek on Main Street for the Navy Mothers Ceremony, then to Willow Grove Cemetery for the bulk of the observances.

The Marshal of the Day was Jerry Tift, Petty Officer 3rd Class, US Navy.

The Pledge of Allegiance and General Logan's Orders were presented by Elizabeth Dalton, Lt. Commander, US Navy; and the Gettysburg Address was given by Robert McBride, Specialist 6, US Army.

Pastor Eli Dowell of Grace Fellowship Church, gave this year's address, saying it is important for all of us to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country.

The ceremonies concluded with the taditional playing of “Taps.”
