Mead tells BLM to Balance Energy Development with Conservation in Bighorn Basin

Gov. Matt Mead, in a release from his office, responded to a Bureau of Land Management's plan to guide future management of federal lands and minerals in the Bighorn Basin with a letter that says energy development can be done in the area while still balancing that approach with conservation. Mead explains.

The governor's view of a balanced approach includes Mead asking the BLM to allow increase public use of federal lands which would open more lands up to hunting and fishing. He said that this can be done while at the same time creating jobs through the energy development in the Bighorn Basin, according to the release.
