The March Against Family Violence A Success

The March Against Family Violence A Success

Saturday morning dawned bright and crisp, perfect for The March Against Family Violence. The march started on Main Street by US Bank and the group boasted purple garb and signs protesting domestic violence. The crowd paraded down Main Street and gathered at Whitney Commons for hot coffee and donuts. Yvonne Swanson, Executive Director of the Advocacy & Resource Center (ARC), explains the purpose of these marches.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The ARC has hosted a variety of events throughout the month to raise awareness. Swanson talks about the ARC’s plans for the rest of the month.
