March Against Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Saturday morning, over 100 people participated in the 4 Annual Family March Against Domestic Violence.

Sponsored by the Advocacy and Resource Center, March Coordinator, Rhonda Weber, tells us what it was all about.

The effects of domestic violence are far reaching, and Weber says it's a subject that can't be swept under the rug.

Jessie Jowett participated in the march and says being a friend and offering words of encouragement to someone struggling with domestic abuse can make all the difference in the world.

Domestic abuse is not okay. Weber says it's time to put blame where blame belongs.

The Advocacy and Resource Center is located at 126 Coffeen Avenue and exists to help victims realize their right to information, protection, input, and restitution.
