Misty Taylor, who's the general manager of Sheridan's Papa John's for two and a half years, called it “the funnest job” she's ever had.

Papa John's is in its final days in Sheridan. The store on Coffeen Avenue will close for good at 10 p.m. Sunday. Asked why, Taylor put the closure down to Sheridan economics. Plus, she said, the owner of the business lives out of state, and it's tough to run a business from another state.

Taylor said working at Papa John's has indeed been a family affair. Her husband, Patrick, is a lead driver, and her 18-year-old son, Malachi started out answering phones and is now a shift leader.

She said her oldest son, John, was a driver, and her two daughters also worked at the business. She said her crew, those she's had in the past as well as the current workers, also become her family.

Patrick Taylor said when the family first took over operations, they had to work at rebuilding the store's reputation and earn the community's trust in the store's product.

Misty Taylor said she's got a few leads for work after Papa John's closes, but she isn't sure yet which direction she'll go.
