Man Admits To Committing Several Burglaries Last Year

Brandon Jones made an appearance in 4th Judicial District Court on Tuesday. The 20-year-old changed his plea to guilty on two counts of burglary. The plea was part of an agreement with prosecutors.

Jones was arrested last July by the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation into several burglaries in the towns of Dayton and Ranchester. 19-year-old Joseph Watkins has also been implicated in the crimes.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Jones would be sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison and that would be suspended in favor of a 180 day split sentence, including 4 years of supervised probation. District Court Judge John Fenn has not yet accepted the agreement, and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing has been scheduled for March 5th.
