A Look Back in Time: Sept. 16, 1918

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Sept. 16, 1918.

Plans are announced for seeing off Sheridan County's latest quota of sons leaving Wednesday morning for Colorado, where they will go into training as doughboys. A short address will be given at 10 a.m. at the courthouse, and a parade led by a band will escort them to the station to take the east bound train just before noon.

An Austrian is being held in the custody of the sheriff on suspicion that he may be a slacker.

All Boy Scouts are requested by Scoutmaster Champion to meet for drill at the Central School at 7 o'clock tonight.

At a brief meeting this morning, the city council granted a liquor license to George Brown at the Western hotel.
