A Look Back in Time: Sept. 1, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Sept. 1, 1919.

Thousands of people are celebrating in Acme today where a big community picnic, sports, ball games, dancing and other forms of entertainment are being held in observance of Labor Day.

Visitors in Sheridan today include Frank E. Long of Buffalo and E.E. Conway of Dayton. Belle Shankton from the IXL ranch is registered at the Sheridan Inn.

The Shriners of Kalif Temple are arranging another large dinner party and dance to be held Sept. 10 at the Hotel Ladore in Story.

A jolly party left for Acme early yesterday morning to spend the day at Piney, the affair being in honor of a recent bride, Mrs. Thomas Deckert.
