A Look Back in Time: May 5, 1917

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on May 5, 1917.

Four more Sheridan men have joined the U.S. navy as the result of efforts by recruiting officer Mate D.L. Walters. Luther S. Morris, A. Rice, R.W. Gering and Claude Lytle are now on their way to Salt Lake City. Each man received a $10 gold piece from the Sheridan County Patriotic fund.

Armed guards now patrol Fort Mackenzie at all hours of the day and night, and no one is admitted without permission.

The Q. E. Q. girls, 20 in number, initiated the junior girls of the high school this evening. Miss Lois Jenkins was the hostess, at the home of Mrs. Jouvenat on Residence Hill. Fun continued until a late hour.
