A Look Back in Time: May 30, 1914

Well-known Sheridan businessman Herbert Coffeen has been taken suddenly, seriously ill at his home. His condition is so alarming that he has been taken to the hospital.

Mrs. Parmelee yesterday presented one of the cleverest and most original luncheons ever given in Sheridan. Her “Rainbow” luncheon featured rooms of flowers in rainbow colors. The table was artistically decorated with the different flowers, and each guest had an individual color of the rainbow on her place card. The hostess's place was in white. Each guest was served an individual cake iced in her color.

The Elks dance yesterday evening was one of the most enjoyable ever given at their home. They called the affair a “Snowball” dance. Guests were dressed in white and presented a charming appearance.
