A Look Back in Time: May 1, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on May 1, 1919.


A serious fire broke out in the stock room of the Scales Motor Company at 11 o’clock this morning, causing about $8,000 damage. The firemen were immediately called, and both chemical extinguishers and water were applied.

The May Day basket supper will be held at 7 o’clock tonight in the Methodist church parlors instead of at 6 o’clock as announced earlier.

Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Faulkner entertained Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Mackey at dinner at 6 o’clock last night.

Archie Wilson of Dayton and Stuart McDowell of Dietz have returned to their homes from overseas.

The opening of Piney Inn, in Story, which was to have been today has been postponed until May 15.
