A Look Back in Time: June 13, 1918

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on June 13, 1918.

Sheridan again today gave a rousing send off to 23 gallant young men of the county who left to join the government services in the cause of freedom and democracy. Attorney R.E. McNally made a short speech to the men before they formed in the parade at the courthouse.

Jack Mattox is a visitor in Sheridan from Parkman.

C.A. Evans, contractor, has a crew of four men and a trench digger employed on the installation of a sewer extension on South Thurmond street. The machine today is working up the hill. At the base of the hill, the digger encountered an old galvanized iron culvert used when the city ditch ran full of water.
