A Look Back in Time: July 16, 1917

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on July 16, 1917.


The Sheridan National Guard company has an enlisted strength of 113 men. The assistance of the Commercial Club has been secured in a recruiting campaign to increase the company to war strength of 150 men by July 25.

William S. Hart stars in “The Desert Man,” playing today and Tuesday at Sheridan's Grand theater. Admission is 5 and 15 cents.

The Hon. Leslie M. Shaw, former governor of Iowa and ex-secretary of the United States Treasury, will discuss “Evolution in Matters Governmental” at the Chautauqua in Sheridan.
