A Look Back in Time: Feb. 21, 1914

The Spencer Business College boys surprised the Buffalo High School basketball team last night, beating the visitors 34 to 12. The Sheridan girls, however, lost their game to Buffalo. Final score was 12 to 4. Games were at the Kirby opera house.

Commissioner Wood says the pavement laid in Loucks and Works street last summer is wearing away at a very rapid rate. The bitumen surfacing is peeling badly in many places. Several hundred peeled and worn places vary from very small to some more than two feet in diameter.

Electric car service to Fort Mackenzie is being changed. Only five trips a day are planned, as compared to the ten trips that have been run for several months. Lack of patronage due to the few troops at the fort have made this change advisable.
