A Look Back in Time: Dec. 6, 1918

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 6, 1918.

Just as he was leaving town last night, J. Herschel Charles was taken into custody by Deputy Sheriff Blackbourn to answer to a homicide charge pending against him at Elijah, Georgia. Since his arrest, he has told officers of the sheriff's force that he did kill a man in Elijah on the first of June.

A woman arrested in Sheridan for burglary has been returned to Billings where she allegedly committed the crime.

Mrs. V.V. David of 1120 Illinois street, is very seriously ill with the influenza.

For the first time in many months, sugar bowls again graced the restaurant tables today, and the hungry could help themselves as before the war.
