A Look Back in Time: Dec. 30, 1917

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 30, 1917.

Two Sheridan men were killed as the result of a head-on collision between two freight trains at Croton, about 35 miles this side of Gillette, at a little after 2 o'clock this morning. Engineer L.W. Hamilton of 370 West Alger Ave. was seriously injured in the wreck and died shortly after. His fireman, J.R. Cobb of 530 N. Main St., was killed outright.

Mrs. Robert West, the misses Roxy Christy, Ethel Baker, Mabel Eddy and Isa and Olga Sturgeon and Mr. Roy Calvin are spending the day at the Will Jones ranch near Dietz.

Men's and women's suits will be cleaned and pressed for $1 at Western Cleaners and Dyers.
