Buffalo's Mountain Meadow Wool, and owner Karen Hostetler, were recognized as the Small Business Association (SBA) “State of Wyoming and Region 8 Exporter of the Year” in a presentation at a luncheon hosted by the chamber of commerce Wednesday.

Amy Lea, with the SBA's Wyoming District Office in Casper, spoke briefly about the SBA and it's programs for businesses.
She then spoke about the local wool mill and why it was chosen for the award, before Hostetler took the podium to speak herself.

Mountain Meadow Wool has grown from an idea in 2002 to being the west's the largest full service spinning mill, according to their website.
They currently process 15,000 pounds of wool per year and ship their products to 42 states and three countries.

Owner Karen Hostetler was a bit surprised to receive the recognition from the SBA.

More information on the mill and their products can be found on their website. We have provided an link to that site with this story at sheridanmedia.com.
