Local Kids Demonstrate The Holiday Spirit Of Giving

Students at one local preschool are being taught a valuable lesson this holiday season. They are learning how to give. The Child Development Center Region 2 serves children in Sheridan and Johnson counties. Students, families and staff from the center have been collecting food for those in need during the holidays. This is the third year of the Thanks for Giving Food Drive. Preschool Teacher Jessica Layher says it was a special occasion when the food was delivered today.

The Sheridan community is full of programs designed to help people during the holiday season. Many programs are finding there are fewer resources during tough economic times. The Thanks for Giving drive had a banner year.

The lessons learned by students participating in the food drive may not be part of the curriculum at the Child Development Center but Layher says they are important for everyone to remember this holiday season.
