An issue that Wyoming Governor Matt Mead feels that will continue to be a challenge for the State is the staffing problem that has consistently plagued the Department of Corrections.

Mead said that it’s hard for Wyoming to compete against other states that are offering better pay packages to their employees.

The $1.4 million that the Governor is proposing is part of his budget recommendations that he presented to the Wyoming Legislature recently. The 2018 budget session will convene in Cheyenne in February.
