‘Life During the War’

Summer is here and tourist season is in full swing as visitors from far and near make a special stop in Sheridan daily to take a tour of the Trail End State Historic Site.

This year’s new whole-house exhibit is entitled Wake Up America: Life During the War, 1917-1918. Site Superintendent Cynde Georgen says the exhibit commemorates the centennial of America’s entry into World War I.

Georgen said that they are open from 9 am to 6 pm everyday through the end of August. September 1 they will shift hours to 1 pm to 4 pm daily through December 14. The site closes to the public each year in mid December and opens back up in April. Admission is $4 for adults, and $2 for Wyoming residents. Children 17 years of age and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
