Lick Creek Fire Closure Lifted

The lightning caused Lick Creek Fire in the Bighorn National Forest has been declared “contained” by the Forest Service, as there has been no visible smoke observed in the area for over a week.

As a result, the closure order for the area, Forest Road 147, and Trail 076, has been lifted. The Forest Service reminds recreationists to be careful with campfires and make sure that they are completely extinguished. The Lick Creek Fire burned four acres and was started by lightning on July 31.
