Legislature Eyes Formation Of Nuclear Task Force

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A proposal in the Wyoming Legislature
would form a task force to study the production of nuclear energy in Wyoming. The Wyoming House has approved House Bill 79 and the Senate Minerals Committee recommended its approval on Friday. The bill now goes to the full Senate.
The task force would study issues such as potential incentives to encourage nuclear energy production in Wyoming, state regulatory provisions and the role of higher education in developing nuclear energy production.
The seven-member group would include two members each from the Senate and House and three people appointed by the governor.The task force would present recommendations, including legislation, to the Legislature's Joint Minerals Committee by Nov.
