Legislator Patton: Lack of Political Participation is Worrisome

Sheridan Media previously reported Wyoming had the lowest voter turnout for this year's primary elections in the past 30 years.

Only 25 percent of eligible voters statewide actually cast ballots, and approximately 30 percent of voters in Sheridan County showed up to the primary polls in August. State legislator, John Patton, said voter turnout isn't the only thing that's got him worried about political participation.

Patton acknowledged John Schiffer did have an opponent for the primaries, but that, he said, was rare to him.

Patton serves on the Elections & Political Subdivisions Committee for the state legislature. To hear Patton's entire interview, click here.
