Bresnan Has Intermittent Internet, Phone Outage

Bresnan Communications reports intermittent outages with its digital phone and high speed Internet service in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. A Bresnan representative said the outages began Thursday night and service had been restored to many customers Friday, although some customers still may be without service.

Game and Fish Investigating Poaching Cases In Sheridan Region

Authorities are investigating the deaths of deer and antelope that were shot and left to rot near Arvada and Buffalo. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says a doe deer and buck antelope were found shot July 31 and three other deer were found shot August 6th. Sheridan Region Game Warden Troy Achterhof says nothing was removed from the carcasses.

Strong But Small Storm Passes Through Sheridan

Storm gutters were full and winds drove rain sideways for a few minutes Friday evening in Sheridan. The storm didn’t last long enough to do major damage but some areas of town were affected more than others. Cloud to ground lightning struck a tree in south Sheridan near Brundage Lane and some areas of the foothills reported large hail stones.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Supreme Court heard arguments Thursday in a legal challenge that seeks to force the nation's leading coal-producing state to regulate carbon dioxide emissions.

The hearing centered on a state air permit for a $1.3 billion coal-fired power plant under construction by Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Campbell County.

Rodeo Weekend Beating Victim Has History Of Violence

One of the victims of a severe beating during Sheridan WYO Rodeo weekend was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. 24-year-old Neil Switzer was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

The missed court appearance was for a probation revocation hearing scheduled last spring. Switzer was on probation after being found guilty of domestic battery in 2008.
