Legislative Committee Recommends Changes In Next Session

The Labor, Health, and Social Services interim committee of the Wyoming Legislature met in Sheridan yesterday. Committee Co-Chair Jack Landon says they will sponsor a bill to update the way Wyoming collects unemployment taxes.

The committee also spent a good portion of the day talking about healthcare issues in the state. The committee may put forth a bill in the upcoming session that could change Medicaid reimbursements. Senator John Schiffer says that Wyoming needs to support primary care doctors.

The committee will have at least one more meeting before the 2010 budget session that begins next February.
