Legislative Committee Meeting In Sheridan Today

Sheridan College is hosting the Wyoming State Legislature’s Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Interim Committee meeting today. The committee will discuss the status of Federal stimulus funding as well as review the Medicaid provider reimbursement rates. Last week Governor Dave Freudenthal said the state Medicaid budget is not going to cover expenses.

The committee will also consider bills that will make amendments to unemployment compensation so that it will meet Federal requirements.

Other topics for discussion today include: the Wyoming Investment in Nursing program, updates on the child care development fund, and the State medical review panel.

The meeting will continue until 5 this evening in the C-TEL presentation hall at Sheridan College.
