Legerski to be Sentenced in June

Sentencing for the man who pleaded guilty to burglarizing the Sheridan Tent and Awning store in Sheridan last July has been scheduled for June.

Tyrell Legerski was arraigned last week before Judge John Fenn in Sheridan district court. According to court records, more than $2,600 in property and cash were taken from the Sheridan business, and a tent valued at $600 was damaged during the burglary.

The state is recommending a three-to-seven-year prison sentence, as part of a plea agreement, with a joint recommendation that Legerski be accepted into the Wyoming Department of Corrections Boot Camp program. His sentence would run concurrently with a case against him in Crook County and under the agreement on successful completion of boot camp, the state would not oppose a reduction in his sentence on the burglary charge. Courts are not bound to accept plea agreements. The judge ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

Legerski was charged with the Sheridan burglary after he and another person were arrested in August for burglarizing a doctor’s office in Gillette. An affidavit filed in the case alleged that property taken from the Sheridan business was found during a search of a storage unit to which Legerski had access.
