The Sheridan Police Department Citizens Academy came to an end Tuesday night as the participants received their certificates for completing the program. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens says that the academy was started three years ago as a means of community outreach.

One of the graduates, Sheridan Media Program Director, Ed Qwiklin talks about what he liked best about the academy.

Ed says that the academy opened his eyes to the dangers that Police officers face daily.

There were 18 individuals who took part in this year's Citizens Police Academy, all of which no doubt have a better understanding of what it takes to be a police officer.
