Learn More About Calamity Jane Thursday In Buffalo

A presentation on the life of Calamity Jane will be given Thursday, May 1st at the Johnson County Library in Buffalo.

Calamity Jane was born Martha Jane Canary on May 1, 1852 and became known as a frontierswoman, scout, Indian fighter and a supposed acquaintance of Wild Bill Hickok.

Glenda Bell has been researching Calamity Jane since 1987 and will be giving the presentation Thursday.

Steve Rzasa, with the library, tells us more about Bell and the presentation.

The presentation on Calamity Jane is free and open to all interested. It will be Thursday, May 1st beginning at 7pm at the Johnson County Library located at 171 N. Adams Ave.
