The Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition Joint Powers Board held their February meeting in Buffalo Thursday evening and worked through a short agenda.
One item discussed was a water modeling.
Preliminary modeling has been an on-going process and the data compiled so far show no significant changes to the previous numbers' bottom lines as far as they can tell.
WWC Engineering representatives were on hand to give a short recap of their findings on the LDCC report, saying the numbers they have seen all add up, but stressed they cannot vouch for the accuracy of those numbers.
WWC Engineering has been hired by the City of Buffalo and Johnson County to review the water modeling data on their behalf.
Johnson County Commissioner John Gibbs, who attended the meeting, said every concern, from industrial use, irrigation, possible recreation and downstram water rights all need to be addressed. All sides need to looked at so hopefully there can be a compromise for everyone's benefit.
The final modeling and market analysis should be ready to present to Sheridan and Johnson Counties for their input and recommendations tentatively on April 19.
